The Classic Kashmir Tour is our most-loved itinerary and the perfect first taste of the valley. Over six unhurried days it strings together the four jewels of Kashmir — the lakes and gardens of Srinagar, the alpine meadows of Gulmarg, the shepherd valleys of Pahalgam and the golden meadow of Sonamarg.
Everything is arranged door to door: private transfers, a dedicated cab, comfortable hand-picked stays and a night on a traditional houseboat. All you do is watch the Himalayas roll by.
On arrival at Srinagar airport our representative welcomes you and drives you to the Dal Lake. Step aboard a private shikara that glides past floating gardens and the Char Chinar island, then settle into a beautifully carved cedar houseboat for the night.
After breakfast drive to Gulmarg, the “Meadow of Flowers” framed by snow peaks and pine forest. Ride the famous Gulmarg Gondola cable car for sweeping Himalayan views, then stroll the alpine meadows or enjoy a pony ride before returning for the night.
Journey through saffron fields and apple orchards to Pahalgam. Explore the cinematic Betaab Valley, the meadows of Aru and Chandanwari where the Lidder river tumbles through pine-clad slopes — a perfect day for gentle walks and riverside photographs.
Drive along the Sindh river to Sonamarg, the gateway to the Himalayas. Take a pony ride or short trek up to the Thajiwas Glacier, ringed by snow even in summer, before returning through some of the valley's most dramatic mountain scenery.
Spend the day amid Srinagar's heritage. Wander the terraced Mughal gardens of Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh, climb to the Shankaracharya temple for a panorama over the valley, then browse the old-city markets for pashmina, saffron and walnut-wood handicrafts.
After a relaxed breakfast check out and, time permitting, enjoy a final shikara moment or some last-minute shopping before a comfortable transfer to Srinagar airport for your onward journey — carrying home a lifetime of Kashmir memories.
